Dancing in the Rain- New film about Dance for Parkinson’s classes in Australia

    'Dancing in the Rain' is a short documentary that reveals the benefits of attending regular Dance for Parkinson's classes for people living with Parkinson’s disease in Australia.

    The film is currently in post-production. We are seeking funding to complete the film, to spread the word about this inspiring not-for-profit program with classes around Australia. 'Dancing in the Rain' is supported by Parkinson's Australia, and contributions are tax-deductible.

When: Wednesday 15 April 2015 Where: Palace Cinema, Norton Street, Leichhardt Time: 6.30pm for 7pm screening Dance for Parkinson’s Australia presents an exclusive film screening of A Late Quartet, a poignant film starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Christopher Walken, who plays a concert cellist battling Parkinson’s Disease. Tickets are $35 each and include a glass of champagne on arrival. All proceeds go to Dance for Parkinson’s Australia a not-for-profit program offering free specialized dance classes for people with PD, their partners and caregivers. Dancing in the Olympic Park – Dance for Parkinson’s Australia at the 2013 NSW Unity Walk

On August 25 Dance for Parkinson’s Australia presented the first demonstration class at the NSW Unity Walk at the Sydney Olympic Park. There are Parkinson’s Unity Walks run by each of the state Parkinson’s organisations annually. The Unity Walk began in Australia in 2008 and to date has raised more than $2.4 million to fund important research and increase the support services provided for people living with Parkinson’s, their families and carers. It was a beautiful, sunny day at the Olympic Park and spirits were high.  Friends and families joined in to support the Parkinson’s community. There was the option of a 4and 8km walk or run and many participants added a flair with colorful costumes and wigs.
