DANCE FOR PARKINSON’S AUSTRALIA ANNOUNCES FIRST ADVANCED DANCE PRACTITIONERS WORKSHOP, CANBERRA, OCTOBER 1 & 2, 2016

DPA is thrilled to announce the first ever advanced workshops, for dance teachers and health professionals, will be held in Canberra on Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 October, at Belconnen Arts Centre, 10 minutes west of the City Centre.  http://www.belconnenartscentre.com.au/  This professional development will provide critical tools, advanced strategies and information relating to Dance for Parkinson’s teaching practice. Open to practitioners who have completed the Dance for PD® Introductory Training, the workshop will integrate global best practices in developing and implementing this unique program. Specialised training, guest speakers and peer mentoring will form the basis of the weekend learning, which will also include time for practical activity, discussion, exchange and networking, as well as an optional viewing of Capturing Grace, and a social get-together. Dancing Connections at the Sydney Opera House

Professional Development Workshop and Community Dance Experience The Sydney Opera House together with Dance for Parkinson’s Australia, in partnership with Mark Morris Dance Groups’ Dance for PD program present the first session in our new initiative: Dancing Connections: The Australian Ballet This series of high quality Dance for Parkinson’s classes links to specific dance performances taking place at Sydney Opera House, collaborating with various dance companies presenting work at the time.  Each series’ professional development and community class curriculum is creatively built around the dance works and concepts that form the basis of those performances.
